Manor By The Lake Wedding | Hollie & Gary
Venue: Manor By The Lake
Make-Up Artist: Elisha Elizabeth
There’s something really romantic about winter weddings here in the UK. Hollie & Gary’s wedding was certainly no exception. Their friends and family gathered together to celebrate at Manor By The Lake, a beautiful Victorian Manor set in the heart of the Cotswolds.
Behind a trap door and through a secret tunnel the boys got ready in the the Rock Bar. After a game of pool and a few cheeky beers the boys began to change into their traditional Scottish attire. After a quick Google search and a few attempts, laces were tied, kilts were pinned and Sgian Dubhs (a small knife) were tucked away carefully into socks. Gary was officially ready to get married.
Upstairs in the bridal suite Hollie and the girls, dressed in floral gowns, sipped on champagne and calmly prepared for the day ahead. Hollie is one of the most organised brides we’ve ever met and was ready with plenty of time to spare. Excitement ran high as they saw the bride for the first time. Hollie looked absolutely stunning in a swooshy ivory a-line gown and her bridesmaids wore emerald green off the shoulder, lace-embellished dresses.
Hollie and Gary took a quiet moment for themselves during the morning to read hand-written notes from each other. Gary surprised his bride with tickets to see a show during their honeymoon in New York City.
Arm in arm with her younger brother Hollie gracefully walked down the grand staircase, as Gary and his best men stood at the end of the aisle in anticipation. Gary couldn’t hold back the tears as he saw his bride for the first time. After an intimate and emotional service, they joined their guests around the Christmas tree to drink champagne and celebrate.
After a delicious meal, funny stories and lovely words of the bride and groom were shared. As part of the joint best man speech Gary’s was handed a guitar and microphone and demanded to perform Jonny Cash’s ‘Ring of Fire’. Even we were nervous for him. However, with a little help from his friends, Gary pulled it off in style.
Later that evening Gary and Hollie shared their first dance together, surrounded by loved ones. This declared that the party had officially started. Drinks were flowing, shapes were thrown and the festivities continued long into the night.
