Charlotte and Tom’s incredible wedding at the beautifully restored 17th century Morden Hall was an absolute blast to shoot. The speech’s were on fire, the dress was sensational and the flowers were out of this world! Charlotte reached out to us having seen an old work friend’s wedding photos online. That friend was one of our lovely brides Becky, who’s story you can find here.

We met with Charlotte + Tom, known as CJ + TJ by their friends and family, at one of their locals The Blue Legume (a beautiful Mediterranean café in the heart of London). After an electric hour with the couple we left bubbling with excitement. Their day was intricately planned down to the finest detail, Charlotte had truly put her organisational skills to work. She gave us a production bible with detailed schedules, blueprints and a headshots of the bridal party. She officially holds our award for the most organised bride!

The morning began with Tom and his crew of groomsmen and women getting ready together in the bridal suite at Mordern Hall. Tom looked dashing in his electric blue Paul Smith 3-piece suit and dark brown Russell & Bromley brogues. His men wore mix + match blue suits with complimentary pink ties and his ladies in navy Whistles jumpsuits. Before going over the running order of the day, they shared a glass of bubbly and Tom took a moment to give his best men a gift.

On the other side of town inside a beautiful Airbnb London townhouse, Charlotte and her bridesmaids were busy with hair and makeup. Champagne was flowing and you could really feel the excitement in the air. The ladies made their way to the bridal suite, where Tom had secretly left them a bottle of bubbly to continue the celebrations. The bridesmaids got into their mix + match navy outfits and eagerly awaited seeing the bride for the first time.

Charlotte wore a beautiful column silhouette Rime Arodaky ‘Devin’ gown with a bespoke cathedral length lace-edged vale. Her outfit was finished off with matching jewellery and a one of a kind headpiece by Tilly Thomas Lux. Together with her outrageously gorgeous bouquet of roses and orchids, from the talented Palais Flowers, she was officially ready to marry her soul mate.

Tom stood in a wave of anticipation and excitement as the bridesmaids began to walk slowly down the aisle. The 4 string quartet played softly in the background as Charlotte made her way towards him. Stood in front of the phenomenal floral archway and surrounded by their loved ones they shared their personalised vows. You could feel the love in the room, it was perfect. The happy couple made their way back down the aisle together, dancing and singing their hearts out to Madonna’s ‘Like a Virgin’!

From here on out it was time to celebrate CJTJ style. We headed out into the garden where lawn games were played, drinks were flowing and laughter echoed off the surrounding trees. This is the only wedding we have been lucky to attend where a 7-foot blow up unicorn has been a feature! We quickly snuck Charlotte and Tom away to take some intimate portraits on a beautiful cast iron bridge nearby. It was such a joy to document the first moments of them together as husband and wife.

The games didn’t stop there, Charlotte and Tom had also prepared various roles for guests to play during the reception. Each table had a nominated captain who wore an armband (responsible for keeping drinks topped up and getting fellow guests on their table involved in the games) and a nominated chef with their own classic chef’s hat (responsible for carving and making sure everyone had enough food on their plate). It was such a clever way to encourage guests to mingle between themselves and keep them entertained during courses, we’d love to see more weddings adopt these ideas!

The speeches. Where do we even begin with these? They were all nothing short of incredible. One moment we were tearing up, the next we’re getting an ab workout from laughing too much. Bravo guys, we still think about Luke’s best man speech to this day.

The party atmosphere continued into the night. Surrounded by a tight circle of their guests, a close friend sang beautifully as they shared their first dance together as husband + wife. The Dominos then took to the stage and projected the party into a whole new dimension by playing their own renditions of Will Smith’s ‘Miami’ and The Lion King’s ‘I Just Can’t Wait To Be King’. Watching 100 grown adults scream at the top of their voices to a Disney song is something you can’t forget.
