This spring beach wedding saw Ben + Kate tie in the knot in the city of Exeter before making the journey, along with their friends and family, to the beautiful south coast of England. The reception was held at The Venus Cafe, situated right in the centre of Blackpool Sands beach in Dartmouth.
Ben and his groomsmen prepared for the day in a local hotel. With the banter flowing and nerves at bay Ben and his Groomsmen got ready together. Ben looked charming in a sophisticated tailcoat and striped trousers with a light blue tie.
Kate calmly got ready together with her family, we’ve never experienced such a relaxed bride. As the father of the Bride saw her for the first time, tears leaked down the faces of the whole bridal party- it was such a beautiful moment! Kate wore a stunning lace dress, a lace edged veil and a locket that Ben had given to her as a wedding gift.
The sun shined bright at St Leonards Church as people began to arrive for the service. With her Father’s hand in hers, Kate arrived in style in a gorgeous classic car. Once guests were seated and with Ben stood in anticipation of his bride, Kate slowly made her way down the aisle.
After an abundance of cheers, confetti, hugs and kisses the guests made their way to the reception allowing the bride and groom a few moments of privacy. Ben + Kate are clearly besotted with each other. With hands interlinked and eyes locked on each other, it was clear just how genuine and sincere their love truly is.
We made our way south- to the beach! The locals began to cheer and congratulate the happy couple as they made their way through to their guests, a celebratory glass of champagne in hand. Despite the fresh spring air, everyone made the most of the beautiful beach location. Being able to kick off your shoes and feel the sand between your toes is up their on our favourites list!
Kate had hand made every guest a personalised tiny royal blue sail boat as place settings, with a nautical theme throughout. In true seaside style, everybody was served fish and chips (the best we’ve ever eaten!) and ice-cream for desert.
As the sun began to set we had the whole beach to ourselves, a perfect opportunity for a dreamy portrait shoot. The sky turned pink and the sea became silky as we walked along the beach. These quieter intimate moment are our favourite- once the nerves have gone and no-one else is there to watch!
Ben + Kate then headed back to their guests to perform their first dance, featuring some epic lifts and spins! The partying carried on into the night with the help of a very talented local ceilidh band. This has to be our favourite spring beach wedding to date!
