This Duke’s Head wedding in Putney was a celebration of the joining together of two beautiful people and two cultures. Brittany is American and Chris is British. They decided to hold two full wedding celebrations so that they could include all of their family and friends… on both sides of the pond! They were married in Brittany’s home town in the states a few months prior to this September wedding in London.

We were invited to join them for their British wedding where they were married by a good friend at the Loyekyn Chapel in Kingston upon Thames. With this being a blessing ceremony without the legal requirements, they were able to write personalised vows and curate the whole ceremony. It included readings by their friends and family as well as a beautiful instrumental by a talented pianist, it was so special.

After the ceremony, along with their guests, Brittany and Chris jumped on a big red London bus to make their way over to their wedding reception at The Duke’s Head in Putney in Southwest London.

It was a beautiful balmy summers day and guests were able to drink and enjoy the views across the River Thames towards Putney Bridge as they gathered on the pub benches in front of The Duke’s Head in Putney.  It was one of those magical days where the sky turns a soft pastel pink as the sun sets.

Friends from both near and far shared stories and gave speeches about how lucky Brittany + Chris were to find each other and how they are an absolute perfect match! For the evening we moved downstairs into the private bar where guests danced and feasted on pints and cake! The night ended with Irish coffees in memory of the Groom’s nan.

It was such a fun and relaxed day, the best kind of wedding! We cannot wait to be back for another Duke’s Head Wedding in Putney, London.
